Ankara Capoeira Association, which was formed in November 2003 by Halit Yalçın, Erce Şenocak and Engin Kılıç, is the first legal Capoeira organization of our country. In the international group Axé Capoeira with Mestre Barrao as the leader, founders and members who include educators of Hacettepe University Capoeira Community are also the representatives of Turkey.

The group; whose purpose is to introduce Capoeira in our country, to raise Capoeiristas that can represent the group abroad, to gather everyone together including male/female – young/old; has representatives in 7 cities around Turkey and has courses going on in 8 districts of Ankara.

Ankara Capoeira Association; which has organized the first Capoeira festival in our country and first education seminars with a Mestre, has made these organizations traditional and is getting to make bigger organizations every single year. It has been invited and has been introducing Capoeira in the TV programs, openings and festivals since 2003 till today.

Still, with the president Halit Yalçın and wise-president Erce Şenocak, it is also arranging shows and courses for the benefit of disabled people and teaching Capoeira to orphan children in Sincan Child Protection Agency.
